State Budgetary Healthcare Institution of the Moscow Region "Childhood Research Institute of the Ministry of Health of the Moscow Region"

The State Budgetary Healthcare Institution of the Moscow Region, the Scientific Research Clinical Institute of Childhood, of the Ministry of Health of the Moscow Region, is the region's leading multidisciplinary pediatric institution, combining clinical, scientific, and educational activities. The Institute's origins date back to 1936, when the Moscow Regional Health Department established the Regional Children's Polyclinic. It was subsequently transformed into a consultative and diagnostic center, and then into a multidisciplinary clinical center of the Moscow Region. In 2021, the institution received the status of Scientific Research Clinical Institute of Childhood, cementing its role as the scientific, methodological, and coordinating center for children's healthcare in the Moscow Region. Today, the Scientific Research Clinical Institute of Childhood is a modern complex providing diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation for children with a wide range of conditions, including rare, genetic, neurological, and oncological pathologies. The Institute develops genomic medicine, cell technologies, bioengineering, and digital healthcare, implementing research findings into clinical practice. A strong focus is placed on specialist training, with over 100 educational events, conferences, and advanced training courses held annually, including unique series unparalleled in the country. The Institute houses the Center for Rare (Orphan) Diseases of Children and Adolescents, established in 2022. The Center maintains a patient registry for the Moscow Region (over 1,100 children), diagnoses and treats orphan diseases, facilitates interdisciplinary collaboration, coordinates the work of regional medical organizations, and conducts research and educational projects in the field of orphan pathology. The Institute also houses a Department of Clinical Genetics and Orphan Diseases, which facilitates the integration of scientific research and the training of specialized personnel. The activities of the Research Institute of Childhood are aimed at strengthening the pediatric care system, developing innovative treatment approaches, and improving the quality of life for children. The Institute is one of Russia's leading centers for treating patients with rare diseases and plays a key role in the development of orphan medicine at the regional level.
