First meeting of the working group on neuroblastoma: start of joint work in the CIS
The first meeting of the working group of the CIS Orphan Consortium on neuroblastoma, one of the most aggressive oncological diseases of childhood, was held.
Experts from:
- Republic of Uzbekistan
- Republic of Armenia
- Kyrgyz Republic
- Russian Federation
The working group was headed by Doctor of Medical Sciences Tatyana Viktorovna Shamanskaya — Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Embryonic Tumors Study of the Institute of Oncology, Radiology and Nuclear Medicine of the NMIC DGOI named after D. Rogacheva.
At the first meeting:
- the participants were introduced
- the situation with neuroblastoma in the CIS countries was discussed
- the primary areas of work were defined
The key idea of the meeting is to organize systematic work with parents of children suffering from neuroblastoma.
The CIS Orphan Consortium continues to strengthen international cooperation to save rare lives. It already includes more than 20 organizations from the CIS countries.
