The Association of Pediatricians of Azerbaijan joined the CIS Orphan Consortium!
We are pleased to announce that the Azerbaijan Pediatric Association has officially joined the CIS Orphan Consortium! The ceremonial signing took place on March 18 in Moscow as part of the All-Russian Conference “The Light of Goodness in Russia: the Path to Saving Rare Lives” — a key event dedicated to rare diseases.
On behalf of the Association, Dr. Tarana spoke, sharing the rich history of the organization and emphasizing the importance of international cooperation:
We hope that our participation in the CIS Orphan Consortium will allow us to unite our efforts to save rare lives. Together we can achieve more — in knowledge sharing, in supporting families, in developing new approaches to treatment.
The Azerbaijan Pediatric Association was founded in 1930 by Professor Abelfaz Karayev and is celebrating its 95th anniversary this year. Over the decades of active work, the Association has gone through a path of constant renewal and scientific growth. Its development is associated with the names of outstanding pediatricians: Professor Nasiva Kuliyeva and Academician Adelya Avazovna Namazova, the first female pediatrician and scientist in Azerbaijan. Her voice was heard at government meetings where issues of maternal and child health were discussed.
A great contribution was also made by the international cooperation supported by Azerbaijani President Heydar Aliyev, which allowed the Association to join international associations and introduce advanced approaches into clinical practice.
We are pleased to welcome the Azerbaijan Pediatric Association as part of the CIS Orphan Consortium and are confident that this partnership will open new horizons for joint work for the benefit of children with rare diseases.
Welcome!
