The CIS Orphan Consortium has a new member!
The Kyrgyz State Medical Academy named after I.K. Akhunbaev (KSMA), the leading state medical university of the Kyrgyz Republic, which has the status of a research and innovation university, has joined us.
KSMA trains medical and pharmaceutical personnel for the CIS countries and far abroad, actively develops international cooperation and conducts fundamental and applied research in the field of healthcare, biotechnology and pharmacy.
Special attention at KSMA is paid to rare diseases: the departments of neurology and clinical genetics, pediatrics and neonatology, obstetrics and gynecology study the features of diagnosis, treatment and support of patients with orphan pathologies. The academy's teachers actively participate in international scientific projects and conferences dedicated to rare diseases.
The accession of KSMA will strengthen the expert potential of the consortium and expand our capabilities to develop a system of care for patients with orphan diseases in the CIS countries. We welcome our colleagues and express hope for fruitful cooperation!
- Nuria Musina, Executive Director of the CIS Orphan Consortium.
