Prasanna Kumar Shirol is the co-founder and executive director of the Organization for Rare Diseases of India (ORDI)

In an exclusive interview at the II CIS Orphan Forum, he said:

  • how the national treatment financing system works in India
  • why crowdfunding has become part of the model
  • how the BRICS countries can join forces to make treatment more accessible
  • what Indian pharmaceutical production can give to the CIS countries

“Instead of everyone working on everything, the BRICS countries can divide rare nosologies - and together we will move faster and more effectively,” Shirol believes.
