The State Budgetary Healthcare Institution of the Moscow Region "Research Institute of Childhood of the Ministry of Health of the Moscow Region" has joined the consortium. It is the region's leading scientific and clinical center, combining practice, science, and education in the field of children's health.

The Children's Research Institute has established a Center for Orphan Diseases, which utilizes a multidisciplinary approach: specialists conduct high-tech examinations, consultations, and treatment for children with hereditary, genetic, and immunopathological diseases.

The Center coordinates the diagnosis and treatment of orphan patients in the Moscow Region, maintains a regional registry of over 1,100 children with rare diseases, and organizes specialized medical care for patients with life-threatening and chronic, progressive rare diseases.

The Institute is actively developing educational and scientific-practical initiatives: seminars and conferences for physicians are held to improve early diagnosis and timely initiation of therapy, and innovative treatment methods and patient care are being implemented and research is underway.

Andrey Petrovich Prodeus,
Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Chief Pediatric Allergist-Immunologist of the Moscow Region Ministry of Health,
Scientific Director of the Regional Center for Pediatric Allergology and Immunology at the Scientific Research Institute of Childhood:

Today, Scientific Research Institute of Childhood is a platform where scientific knowledge and clinical practice come together to ensure that children with rare diseases receive an accurate diagnosis, timely treatment, and specialist support at every stage.
Joining the CIS Orphan Consortium opens new opportunities for sharing experiences and partnerships in the areas of early diagnosis, registry development, and the implementation of innovative technologies to improve the effectiveness of care for children with rare diseases in Russia and the CIS countries.
